Unify Financial Advisors Weekly Market Update – 12.8.2025
Tame inflation data and growing optimism about a possible Federal Reserve interest rate cut drove positive momentum in the stock market last week. The S&P 500 gained 0.31% for the week.
The Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index (PCE) increased 0.3% in September and 2.8% from one year ago. The US import and export prices remained unchanged in September, following a 0.1% rise in August.
Weekly Outlook
Looking ahead, all eyes are on the Federal Reserve’s meeting this week, where a 0.25% decrease in the federal funds rate is anticipated. This decision could further bolster market sentiment. We also anticipate the release of the October JOLTS data.
In terms of individual stocks, earnings reports from Oracle, Broadcom, and Costco will be in focus. Oracle and Broadcom are expected to report strong results due to increased demand for AI infrastructure and services, and Costco needs a positive report to help its stock move into the green for 2025.
